Purple Peacock has green beads, sweet purple stems, purple veined leaves that resemble red Russian Kale. Young leaves are great for salad and mature leaves are as sweet as any lightly steamed kale. Floret stems erupt first as loose heads of broccoli, followed by prodigious side shoots. These are sweet eaten raw or cooked.  Plant these broccoli seeds 1 cm deep and 30-60 cm apart. Mulch to keep soil moist, especially while germinating. Lack of water will stress the plants and make them susceptible to disease. This is true for all varieties of Broccoli. Sow directly in early spring and again in mid July for a great fall crop.  Approximately 125 seeds/0.5g
