Cucurbita maxima. A red-orange Japanese winter squash; fruit are 5-10 lbs. each and teardrop-shaped. The flesh is very tasty; thick walled and deep orange skin. It has a creamy yellow flesh that has a nutty flavour; slightly reminiscent of chestnuts. Also known as uchiki kuri squash or potimarron. Good yields and stores well. 92 days. Heirloom.30-35 seeds.
